How BVN is striking the right balance with hybrid working

The challenge of balancing hybrid work

As organisations worldwide adapt to hybrid work models, finding the right balance between in-office and remote work remains a key challenge. BVN, an international architecture and design practice, is at the forefront of this transition, exploring innovative solutions through what they call an “elastic work model.” This model allows their office spaces to flex physically, culturally, and operationally, accommodating the evolving needs of their workforce.

Collaboration with UNSW Business School

To better understand and optimise their working arrangements, BVN collaborated with UNSW Business School researchers, including Business Insights Institute Research Associate Dr. Christian Criado-Perez and Dr. Nicole Gardner, to gather and analyse employee feedback. This collaboration helped BVN identify what employees valued most in their work environment, whether in the studio or working remotely. The findings have guided BVN in refining their office space to better support collaboration, productivity, and employee well-being.

Key takeaways from BVN's approach

BVN’s approach highlights the importance of flexibility and employee involvement in designing workspaces that meet the diverse needs of a hybrid workforce. As more organisations navigate the complexities of hybrid work, BVN’s experience offers valuable insights into creating work environments that are both adaptable and supportive.
